Getting Trujillo

By Train: There is no train service in the area. The nearest trains are to the north in museums in Chiclín(30km) & Pacasmayo(100km).

Buy Bus: The city of Trujillo is between connections south to Chimbote, Lima and north to Chiclayo, Piura, Sullana, and Tumbes on the border with Ecuador.

Some companies of transport:
• CRUZ DEL SUR (Lima, Chiclayo, Trujillo): more info www.cruzdelsur.com.pe
• CIVA (Lima, Chiclayo, Trujillo, Piura): more info www.civa.com.pe/

The bus is not recommended for tourists who are travelling accross the mountains -- it is not worth the "savings." Commercial bus drivers are under a lot of pressure to meet time schedules -- that makes for dangerous travel.

Movil Tours comes from Lima, leaves Trujillo at 3 and 4pm via Chiclayo (3 hours). You can catch a 6am Transportes Linea bus to Chimbote to catch the 8am bus up the spectacular Cañon del Pato to Huaraz in the day with Turismo Huaraz.

By Plane: Trujillo airport has connections to Lima, Piura, Tumbes, Chiclayo & Chagual for Huamachuco. Three airlines offer daily flights from Lima to Trujillo:
• LanPeru
• Star Peru
• WayraPeru.

The airport is on the Huanchaco and Trujillo road, 5 or 10 km from them. There is a fairly universal ATM in the departure check-in area, and a US$5 departure tax from Trujillo and US$35 from Lima.
